{"id":20,"date":"2015-10-16T17:15:01","date_gmt":"2015-10-16T16:15:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lisariemers.com\/?p=20"},"modified":"2024-05-28T11:34:22","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T10:34:22","slug":"42-things-i-learned-at-the-intranetnow-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lisariemers.com\/index.php\/2015\/10\/16\/42-things-i-learned-at-the-intranetnow-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"42 things I heard at the #IntranetNow Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week I had the joy of going to an event filled with a very specific kind of geek.\u00a0 Whether your term of choice is the digital workplace,\u00a0 intranet, portal, gateway, hub or dumping ground, I got to speak, listen and learn with people inordinately passionate about improving the way people communicate online at the <a title=\"Find out more about the Intranet Now conference\" href=\"http:\/\/intranetnow.co.uk\/\">Intranet Now conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I&#8217;ve been told off in the past that doodling in my notepad doesn&#8217;t look all that professional, but I actually find it&#8217;s a great way of retaining knowledge.\u00a0 For example, I can still tell you that <a title=\"Find out a bit more about Bruner - he's on Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jerome_Brunerhttp:\/\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jerome Bruner<\/a>, that great <a title=\"Find out more about instructional scaffolding if you're interested on Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Instructional_scaffolding\">educational constructivist<\/a> type (ok, that&#8217;s getting a little rusty) wrote at length about scaffolding childrens&#8217; learning, as I once drew his name into a large wall, covered in scaffolding poles.<\/p>\n<p>Anyhoo. I digress. Everyone <a title=\"Not just millenials, and it's not a listicle itself, but read more about reading online\" href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/stevedenning\/2014\/08\/29\/five-reasons-why-millennials-love-listicles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">loves a listicle<\/a>, so here&#8217;s some of what I heard at <a title=\"See what other people heard and tweeted about #IntranetNow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%23intranetnow&amp;src=typd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#IntranetNow<\/a>, in no particular order&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1-6ish.
